Swedish For Immigration ( SFI )
I finally have my time to share the experiences I had throughout the Swedish languages' courses. Many of us are wondering why we need to study SFI. Well, before I proceed, I want to explain according to my experiences about some important things. SFI or Swedish for Immigration ( or " Svenska för Invandrare" on the Swedish language ) is the basic to start knowing and learning the language. That means, person who have studied SFI earlier is not really done yet because he/she is just starting. I mean, the language is not reaching its identity yet - you need more development and additional knowledge inorder to speak, write, and even understand the wholeness and perfection of the language. If you are good enough, you can just learn the SFI's courses and then quit. But I guarantee that it is not easy if you just give up. Most of the students who just studied SFI can really not speak or even write good swedish, unless they study another courses which are related to the language.
Swedish as the Second Language - Basic ( "Svenska som andra språk - grund"/SAS - G )
What is SAS G?
If I compare this course in a common school's system, I can say that this is in the first year level of a secondary high school. Through the course, you can continue to improve your capacity to communicate verbally and write in swedish in your daily life, community living, schooling and even when you're working. The course contents different subjects that includes in this area; t.ex. New life with those new technolgies, revolution in the society, money, daily living, understanding culture, etc. Student is also trained to understand some basic grammars, litterature through reading a novel, making presentations and with many more. It is really enjoying to proceed learning SAS G after SFI. Don't worry about your previous knowledge, it's on its way to be used here and developed.
Swedish as the Second Language - 1 ( " Svenska som andra språk - 1 " / SAS - 1 )
After completting SAS G, you can proceed to the next level - SAS 1. In this course you'll going to learn more on grammatics, language structures, writing, speaking, and even understanding the Swedish community. Now, it's time to apply your professionality through formal writings and speaking. I think, this is one of the easiest course if you're good enough with the grammatic. In this course, I learned how to make my own verbal presentations about the theme " En annan värld" which can translate as " The other world " on english. As well as learning how to write articles, t.ex writing to the editor, quotating, etc. Everything must be written on Swedish ofcourse.
I also learned how to read and understand the swedish litterature through reading of novel books which the teacher will recommend you to read. You can buy these books from the store or internet, bokus.se or libris.se are some store online; and you can even borrow from the library. It's s fun doing this if you're interested with reading. If you're not, just try so that you can pass this part. In this course, everybody can also learned how to write an investigatory article within language sociality. If this is your first time doing these matters I have written here, then it's not easy. But don't worry because in every school works, there are instructions and examples. Just follow the rules and think positive. This course is not too difficult except for the reading comprehensions in the national exams.

Swedish as the Second Language - 2 ( " Svenska som andra språk - 2 " / SAS - 2)
SAS 2 is the continuation if you want to extend your previous knowledge on the language. In this course, I learned how to develope my previous learnings and do them more professional. I think this course is not too difficult as it seems. The grammatics you've learn previously are being used this time and you must really train to use them right. You must also learn how to argue through writing an argumentation article or any related one. This time you need to read two novels that you need to understand and specify later on. Reading analyse must be done in the school. You also need to read newspapers in order to know the ways on writing newspaper's articles such as letter to the editor, chronicles, debate, etc. As well as, writing an essay and articles about the swedish language.
Swedish as the Second Language - 3 ( " Svenska som andra språk - 3 " / SAS - 3)
This is the last level in learning the swedish language as an immigration. You're going to develope your earlier knowledge about the course more specifically. During this course, you can apply your own technique on doing such speech, presentation, etc. through the application of rethorical process. You need to expand and make researches for the recommended topis and write them formally and resonably. This time you need to research for litterature through genre, theme, and author in order to make a litterature's analyse. You must also write an essay or article about the power of the language. The national exams which consist of two parts - verbal and writing, are not too difficult as I think. It is easier rather than the reading comprehension in SAS 1.
In conclusion with these courses I've mentioned above, I would like to say that these are really applicable specially if you're planning to proceed to colleges or universities in Sweden later on or even find work. Most of the immigrants who have finished these courses can already speak, write and even understand swedish language. These can be a good competence when seeking for a job.
